This week we break down the Batman V Superman Trailer. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Were talking to you Doomsday. Also we give our thoughts on George Lucas’s quotes about the new trilogy problems. Neil Blomkamp’s Alien 5 will see the return of Newt if only Papa Ridley’s Prometheus sequels would quit. Marvel Studios ups the ante with a first look at Captain America: Civil War. Plus, Flash and Arrow Cross over, The Walking Dead mid season finale, DKIII comic review, Jason’s picks and some cool shit you need to know about all this week on The House of Gozer Podcast.
I like this Bruce Wayne a lot. Cynical, No bullshit Frank miller esc. That smirk he gives Clark when asked about “the Bat Vigilante” says it all.
The whole interaction with Clark in the beginning is right on the mark. The whole freaks dressed like clown line along with the how you like them apples stare down. Frank Miller would be proud. Prouder even when you get to see Supes bleed.
( you have to wonder if Bruce at that point knows Clark is superman)
Love the voice modulation too, looks like Zach Snyder is a fan of Arrow.
On Lex:
I thought he was playing Lex Luthor not Edward Nigma from Batman Forever. Lex is a character that is very controlled. His emotions, are very internal, his motives, well planned.
Now we only have less than a minute of clips to make a judgement.
Which based on that is unfair to make butMaybe this tom foolery is Lex’s Mask sort of. It’s an act to cover all of his evil doings. He acts like a campy game show host to keep people off his scent. That would be closer to Pre Crisis Luthor than what we are used to or a little too close to Gene Hackman’s Lex which I think we could all do without.
There is an online theory and it’s something to consider Does Lex know who both Bruce and Clark are? and is getting them to meet part of a much larger plan? In both trailers he is bosting about the showdown. Which if true, would be more Luthor esc.
Superman
Superman is what you would expect Superman to be and Is featured the least in this trailer but It is very clear he could Kill batman at anytime, yet he keeps taking the beating over and over telling Batman to stand down, if I wanted it you would be dead already. The heat vision eyes were bad ass.
Which brings us to this and confirming the rumors which we have known for months.
Lex turns Zod’s Corpse into Doomsday –
To me, it’s looks sorta like Doomsday and a Cave Troll, and the koopa troopers from Super Mario Brothers Movie had a three way.
I get the purity of his comic origin but sometimes you have to bend the rules.
Is it cannon No, but they work. There might be more to how Doomsday is created. Something seeded for later, most likely.
Remember in the MCU, Tony stark created the Vision and Ultron, Not Hank Pym.
And we have no idea what Doomszods powers are going to be or if he will change or maybe like Luthor this is a early version of that character. a Doomsday Begins if you will.
That Final Shot of The Trinity was priceless. Wonder Woman saving their asses. It was pretty fucking awesome.
I could have done without the “Is she with you? line” So predictable, but coming from Clark it sort of feels right. The whole shot of them together so awesome. The Dawn of Justice is coming and I for one am so stoked.
Brian not so much. I get where he is coming from. There is a purity in those characters that he feels is being violated, but everything is open to interpretation.

The only problem I have with this trailer is that is you have basically given us the entire story of the film and to geeks like us we can figure it out. That takes a little of the fun out of the experience. This is also a very popular comment on the inter webs.
I think Disney and Lucasfilm have set a precedent on the way movie trailers should be
The trailer should have been this one right here. Which I personally think is a lot better.
I can’t help but get the feeling they are tying to prove something to us and to everyone who has seen a marvel movie in the last 9 years. Like, Were DC we can do this too.
But Holy Hell it’s looks like DC comics come to life. I an’t bitch about that. Between Star Wars, Captain America and now this I think my Head is going to explode.
Based on what I have seen i think this movie is going to be great, Really Great. It’s a very DC comics feeling movie which just like the comics is a different flavor from Marvel films and comics.
It’s Interesting that when Marvel and DC films get a direct translation from the comics those different flavors still exist. It must mean they are doing something right.
We shall see.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Strays From My Original Vision, George Lucas Says.
The father of Star Wars in an interview with CBS news basically laid it all out as far as where and what Disney did with the star wars saga.
“The issue was ultimately, they looked at the stories [by Michael Arndt] and they said, ‘We want to make something for the fans.’ I said, ‘All I wanted to do was tell a story of what happened–it started here and it went there. It’s all about generations and the issues of fathers and sons and grandfathers.’”
“It’s a family soap opera,” he continues. “People don’t realize it’s actually a soap opera and it’s all about family problems–it’s not about spaceships. So they decided they didn’t want to use those stories; they decided they were going to do their own thing so I decided, ‘Fine.’”
“But basically, they weren’t that keen to have me involved anyway,” he said. “But at the same time, I said, ‘If I get in there I’m just going to cause trouble, because they’re not going to do what I wanted them to do.’ And I don’t have the control to do that anymore and all I would do is muck everything up. So I said, ‘OK, I will go my way and I let them go their way.”
It might not be a bad thing really. I mean one could say that the original vision was lost in the prequel trilogy. The Force Awakens opens nationwide in 9 days. We will see then just how many if any of the Grandchildren of Anakin Skywalker appear.
Captain America: Civil War Teaser Trailer.
Ok lets go with the good and the bad if there is any bad to be had.
Bucky, Clearly no longer Hydra’s puppet and is coming back to himself. Cap can see that, no one else can and it looks like bucky is getting framed for bombings he didn’t do.
Cap, is in the middle of a controversy involving collateral damage caused by The Avengers and probably involving whatever is going on with Bucky.
General Thunderbolt Ross gives Cap The Slokovia Accord. Which means to hold Captain America and other enhanced people accountable for their actions.
Tony Stark believes that there should be limitations on what heroes otherwise they are no better than the bad guys.
Then we get a ton of awesome shots of Team Cap and Team Iron man.
Black Panther looks so good.

So in 2016 we not only get Batman V Superman, but Cap vs Iron Man. NO way is this by coincidence.
NEWT!!
In a new interview with Icons of Fright, Michael Biehn confirmed that he will star, along with Sigourney Weaver, in Neill Blomkamp’s Alien film — currently on hold because of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel — and it will act as though “Alien 3 and 4 never existed.”
He goes on to say that this revision will also open the door for Newt to come back. Although, this version of Newt will be older than the last time we saw her and whoever lands the role will become the new Ripley.
“They’re planning on bringing me and Newt back and at this point Newt will be around twenty-seven years old,”
“I know that every actress in Hollywood is going to want to play this one, it’s really a passing of the torch between Sigourney and this younger actress who would play Newt. It would keep the franchise alive and the studios would make money, because that’s what the bottom line is now: money.”
I can tell you for sure this is a project we hope to see. Someday.
In Alien Prequel news : Papa Ridley says Shaw is returning in a limited role.
Who wants to place bets that she is a recording or something?
I do not think we ever commented on the Universal Monsters shared universe Mummy Reboot.
The bottom line: Universal Monsters are not scary anymore, and to a whole generation of kids they are blah.
If they really wanted to make the universal monsters something again you have to make them scary and be willing to change them radically if need be. It takes a lot for kids to be scared these days. The audiences are not the same as they were almost 100 years ago.
Visually and story wise. They will not do that because they are tradition.
